The immunogenetics team is seeking an experienced and highly motivated cell and molecular biologist at the research associate/senior research associate level with expertise in induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC), genetic engineering and hematopoietic cell differentiation. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team dedicated to building an iPSC platform for the development of novel engineered cell products. The individual will be responsible for iPSC maintenance, characterization, gene-editing, and differentiation of said iPSCs to immune cells. The position will require passion, technical excellence, attention to detail, and the ability to work with team members across our organization. This is an excellent opportunity to be at the cutting edge of engineered cell medicines by combining the potential of the iPSC platform and CRISPR-based gene editing.
•Maintain, expand and characterize iPSC lines
•Perform gene editing and HDR on iPSCs and create unique cell banks
•Execute differentiation of iPSCs to desired immune cell types
•Troubleshoot and develop novel methods to achieve more efficient protocols
•Present data to project group and larger multidisciplinary teams
•BS or MS in cell biology, immunology, or related field
•3+ years of related work experience in academic or industry setting
•Experience in sterile techniques and iPSC cell culture
•Experience with iPSC differentiation and cell-based assays
•Experience with flow cytometry, PCR, qPCR, cell imaging and IF
•Demonstrated excellence in planning, executing, and analyzing experiments
•Able to troubleshoot and solve difficult problems
•Attention to detail and careful record-keeping
•Excellent organizational and communication skills
•Experience in Microsoft office, excel, power point and able to write technical reports and protocols and present data
•Highly self-motivated and a strong team player
•Flexible schedule to accommodate weekend work if necessary
•A desire to make a significant impact by generating novel medicines
•Experience with embryonic or induced pluripotent stem cell culture
•Prior experience with CRISPR-Cas9-based gene editing in pluripotent stem cells highly desired
•Experience with differentiation of pluripotent stem cells to immune cell types is a plus
•Previous experience in industry setting preferred
